A Florida native, Kerstin Upmeyer has taught as a Professor for the International Academy of Design and Technology since 1997, and has served as Internship Coordinator for the Bachelor of Graphic Design Program since 2005. A graduate of Ringling School of Art and Design, she majored in Illustration, with a focus on computer graphics.

Kerstin has worked as both an Illustrator and Graphic Designer since the early 90’s. An Adobe Certified expert, her work has been in both local and international literacy programs and drug prevention programs for children. She illustrated children’s books for School Book Fairs and served as a technical editor for Thompson Publishing. In addition to teaching at IADT, she has done corporate training for IECUBED and Saint Petersburg College. Her freelance work includes companies such a K-Force, Liberty Bank and PC Productions.

Currently Kerstin is completing her M.Ed. in Instructional Technology at University of South Florida. She has a Graduate Certificate in Web Design from USF as well. She is a member of Adobe Certified Experts, USF’s Instructional Technology Student Association and the Adobe InDesign Users Group of Tampa Bay as well as The Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

In her leisure time, Kerstin is an avid cyclist, and recently completed a 100K ride for the American Diabetes Association’s “Tour De Cure” as part of the IADT team. She is also an avid bookworm and movie watcher. She lives in Clearwater with her husband, two dogs, two cats and a parrot.
